Galeries Lafayette relies on mocci from CIP GROUP for innovative delivery solution of its fusion cuisine

Berlin’s  Galeries Lafayette with its Greek-French gourmet food is going the extra mile with the overall service offering, launching a delivery pilot with Munich-based mobility player mocci.

Known from the Paris flagship Galeries Lafayette Haussmann, the Michelin-starred Greek-French kitchen by Andreas Mavrommátis is now also exclusively represented in Berlin. With the sustainable delivery of Mavrommátis’ fusion gastronomy, the fashion house in Berlin-Mitte is focusing on the constant expansion of its range of services and now offers its customers the delivery of fresh dishes in addition to the previous deliveries of gift boxes.

The urban promenade Friedrichstraße is currently dedicated as a bicycle street and thus offers the ideal starting point to help shape new mobility concepts. The ongoing delivery trend

and providers such as Flink, Gorillas, Picnic are opening up new ways in terms of delivery.

The benefits of having your own fleet solution for stores are obvious: control over the quality of delivered goods and services to offer deliveries at consistent, high standards of service. Brand messages and branding are also brought to the streets of Berlin outside the company’s own store.

During the pilot project with mocci’s delivery fleet, the fresh, Mediterranean gourmet boxes sold out in a very short time in the centre of Berlin. This shows future potential to establish mocci as a fleet solution for inner-city mobility, such as in Berlin’s Friedrichstraße. Further talks on expanding the services are already underway.

Ulrike Möslinger is responsible for the gourmet department at Galeries Lafayette and speaks positively about the pilot case: “We would like to continuously expand our service offering. With mocci, we see potential to be able to deliver the benefits of international specialities to our customers’ homes – this enhances the shopping experience.” The Directrice Gourmet Galeries Lafayette continues, “A cooperation with other stores on Friedrichstraße is also possible.”

Mobility, in general, is undergoing rapid change. Both individual mobility and mobility used in a commercial context are completely redefining themselves. As a German company, the team of mocci is developing a new class of vehicles for commercial use: smart pedal vehicles (SPV). All combined in a functional, sustainable and smart fleet product solution, based on an intelligent hardware and software platform. Michael Emele, Business Development and Sales Manager at mocci accompanied the pilot in Berlin and says: “For our commercial customers, and ultimately the end customer, it’s important that delivery comes on time, even better if it’s sustainable.” Thanks to real-time monitoring and early detection of hardware problems, delivery is also much more reliable. “We look forward to further exciting collaborations and pilot projects, and to helping shape the urban mobility of the future,” says the contact for business customers.
